Within architecture, in order to truly understand the environment - in which one wants to explore a project - one should build the environment up into a clear and concise : scaled model.

In order to immerse one's self and engage a given site , one need not extrude an entire city for the purposes of a single project. One need only extrapolate that which is in the immediate vicinity to begin to understand the surroundings. The goal is to be able to explore the location from every angle, from every vantage point, and every view:

One should design a structure by studying the site, by envisioning which views should be captured and which should not. One must appreciate and grasp the most effective and logical location for each functional space three dimensionally. In effect - those who do not take the time to study the surroundings are sticking their head in the sand, where the sun does not shine.
